Personal Space!

Click Bait or Not, Answer for yourself! But this blog isn’t a philosophical note. This is a blog long due, about having your Personal Brand your Personal Space, and little specifically about having a Personal Homepage.

So, when I launched my Homepage at this New Year Eve : molabocha.com, a lot of people loved it and surprisingly a lot of them asked: But What is this ? More interestingly, Why is this?

A little attempt to answer this, put into this Blog 🙂 Have a nice read!

Why it makes sense,

Well, I guess for me having a personal homepage was like a childhood fancy, it looks so exciting to have something on the internet that’s yours. Just Yours. No Ads! No Algorithms! Nothing!
Apart from the feels part of it, I realized its a great way of introduction and being your own promoter ( An underappreciated concept ) . When you meet people professional / casual and you have to answer : ” So, What do you do? ” and in my head, I feel like damn! That’s a pitch in itself – What do I tell / What do I leave out / Aren’t these things too wide ranging / This conversation would awkwardly become a self advertisement ( If mom doesn’t do it 😛 )

Especially, Once I was having like 2 Instagram Channels much different from each other – sharing them by word of mouth became a wierd conversation. And that wasn’t it too. I wanted to share so much more.
Just the idea of having to limit and construct how and what I tell as an Introduction became a task! So, I decided to create something that closely tells about me: What I do, What I like, How I think.

Like, I added my Motto to it! I mean how interesting is that? How often will you be able to share that with someone in a conversation? 🙂

What to put up on it,

Really Speaking!
Anything & Everything that describes you!
Having a personal homepage allows you to be independent of a medium or format of expression of your message. Throw in a video ! Throw in a Doodle ! Throw in a Background Song ! Do whatever you want!

It’s a bloody great way to Just be You on the Internet, To land across the way you wish!

Like there is absolutely no limit to how you can exploit having a personal space!
Like may be not the most Happy analogy- But its like your Life’s Resume (CV) just with lesser lies 😛

You Never Know, What Might Click!

Well, Yes! Primarily, makes me feel real happy about it!
But that apart, as I start to socialize with so many people these days at events / workshops – it just makes it so peaceful and efficient to transfer information. Like its crazy how much follow back it brings to you.

Just a Small Example: So I attended an event, really loved the team and immediately thought of collaboration. How do I land across?
A small little talk with one of the teammates, a small note of appreciation & closed it with – “Lets collaborate : molabocha.com”

Now, a little later that week:

So Yeah, makes a lot of sense! Keep putting in the effort, make it a nice statement & it will come back 🙂

How do you go about making one,

Now this!
Something funny happened! A lot of people expressed that they like it and that even they want to do but they don’t know how to code. And honestly, in today’s world that would be like the last Excuse you can put out in defense!
Like, we live in a time where Free tutorials, Free templates, Free mock-ups are flooded across the internet: As long as you are interested in actually doing something!

And really, capability today is one of the last things that will stop you from doing anything.

I was bloody noob too, So I picked up a template that I could see my thoughts and feelings fitting well into ; Check this out for Reference, The funny thing is – I actually molded ways of portraying my content just to land my message across via the template I loved.
A few tutorials, and help from a kind friend: Tomar who helped me with getting the website hosted and clearing out my doubts on How Tos.

And it really just takes that much!

I am not sure how convinced you are, but I think something I would repeat from a Mentor I follow is, We really need to start investing in our Personal Brand, in creating what we are, in promoting our self.
Like you are one of the most promising stock out there, invest in yourself, invest in adding value to your Personal Brand.

What if someday randomly maybe Your Hero- Designer / Comedian / Coder / Teacher / Chef / Whatever runs into your homepage, just because it is Out there! & Something on that Clicks to them! They call you up, and take you on board? :O

All I am saying is, Invest in creating your Personal Brand!
